Covid and ISO Health Informatics Experience & Telehealth Services
The policy and resourcing decision will determine the future use of telehealth in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Flinders University conducted a study of health professionals to determine their experience with telehealth within the context of COVID-19. Telehealth services, which allow doctors and health professionals to connect with patients via either the phone or on the internet, were promoted in Australia in the early phases of the disease. This was done to reduce the chance of spreading of infectious diseases. This is especially useful for rural and remote areas that do not have the accessibility to physical therapy.

Flinders University researchers Dr Paul Ward Dr. Hailay Absrha Geosesew Prof Anthony Maeder Professor Hailay Absrha Gesesew, and Dr Alan Taylor conducted a survey of 91 healthcare professionals in order to assess their experience using the use of telehealth. The benefits of allowing the use of telehealth as a mode of service, increased confidence in the provision and greater human and financial resources are all acknowledged by healthcare professionals.

"While some doctors believed that the move to Telehealth was prompted due to the epidemic," said Dr Alan Taylor, who is an author of renown at Flinders University and a member of the Australian Telehealth Society Committee.

Dr. Taylor declared that it was impossible to know how telehealth will continue to be viable following the pandemic. Future funding of telehealth services will be affected by this complex mix between policies and the clinical practice. Dr Alan Taylor was also responsible for the creation of an international standard to the telehealth service. Dr Taylor stated that international standards are an important part of world trade in goods, services, and with the increasing use of telehealth services, it is crucial to maintain the quality of telehealth services subject to ISO/TR 11633-2:2021 Health informatics-Information security management for remote maintenance of medical devices and medical information systems. These guidelines are very helpful for healthcare providers, including primary doctors, who want to implement risk management procedures in order to establish objectives for quality and create procedures to operate telehealth services.
